Note:
Wetlands Board does not approve of fire ponds being built in wetlands when this results in the loss of a wet1ands of greater value than the fire pond would be.
Wetlands Board recommends that in all cases of man-made ponds, islands of higher ground be included in the pond for the benefit of wildlife, and to avoid the "sterile" environment.
